My favorite ladies handbags would have to be that one that I carry that is a photo bag with my children's pictures on it. I am able to carry them with me wherever I go. When I can't be with them they are still with me, if this makes any sense! I love the fact that I can keep replacing their pictures with their most recent school pictures. It is a large enough bag that I can fit all of the important things I always need to bring with me. I am not divorced and my children are still at the ages where I see them every day, but this bag is still very dear to me. If they go to a friend or cousin's house for the weekend or are on a school trip, I can count on looking at my favorite bag, knowing that if they are in my sight they are also in my heart! |

Normally freshwater pearls are not as perfectly round as salt water pearls and they might not have the same lustre or shine as akoya pearls. However with the advent of pearl farming in China they can be produced in a wide range of shapes, sizes and colours which makes them much less expensive than the traditional saltwater pearl and therefore much more popular, particularly with younger people and jewellery makers and designers. Freshwater pearls are made from solid nacre and therefore they are very durable and will resist wear and tear.
China is the leading country for freshwater pearl production with a total production f 1,500 tonnes in 2006. The industry started in the Shanghai province but not includes many surrounding areas including, Zhejiang, Anjui, Jiangsu, Hubei, Hunan and Jianxi. Probably the largest marketplace in the world for the trade of freshwater pearls is Hong Kong with its many pearl markets. |

I was stunned when I went to my local nightclub the other night. I must admit I was more of a clubber in the early to mid 90s. So I didn't know what to expect. And I was gobsmacked to be honest. The women these days seem to arrive just wearing lingerie it would seem - I saw women wearing what would appear to be nothing by a satin nightdress - and it was like -5c outside too!
And the music - well, I haven't missed much over the years it would seem. The music was awful - just a load of chipmunks singing from what I could tell. But surely I could go to the bar and find solace in a nice drink? Not really - not without spending £4 or £5 per drink!
I think I'll stick with my local pub for nights out - so much better! |
