Buy Store Brands to Stretch the Monthly Grocery Budget

I'm always thinking of ways to save money - from finding the cheapest energy supplier in London to even walking to work!

Groceries account for a large portion of the monthly household budget. To save money when shopping but avoid lowering quality standards buy store brands rather than name brand products. Most store brands taste just as good as name brand products. Soups, tuna, and canned goods are foods where buyers will notice little difference in store brands and name brands. In fact, many store brands are manufactured in the same factories as name brands. Buy a sample store brand product and give it a taste and quality test before deciding to buy in bulk. If it passes your standards buy it on a regular basis rather than a name brand. Store brands always sell at a substantial discount to name brands and the savings will quickly accumulate. If a shopper uses store coupons to further reduce the purchase price the monthly grocery bill can keep the food pantry well stocked even in these lean times.
